Dual-channel nanovoltmeter optimized for precise, low-noise voltage measurements, particularly suited for characterizing low-resistance materials and devices. It offers a high resolution of 1 nanovolt (nV) and features a 7.5-digit display. The instrument provides low noise performance, typically 15nV peak-to-peak noise at a 1-second response time, and 40–50nV peak-to-peak noise at 60 milliseconds. It includes a delta mode that coordinates measurements with a reversing current source, enabling resistance measurements down to 10 nanohms (nΩ). The 2182A also supports temperature measurements with built-in thermocouple linearization and cold junction compensation. For enhanced functionality, it can be integrated with Keithley’s Model 6220 or 6221 current sources for applications such as differential conductance and pulsed I-V measurements
